A Study in 1 & 2 Peter

Called out his life as an ordinary fisherman, Simon Bar-Jonah left his nets and followed Christ, who gave him a new name: Peter.  Under the teaching of Jesus and direction of the Holy Spirit, Peter grew to be a faithful preacher and evangelist to both Jews and Gentiles.  Near the end of his life, after decades of dedicated ministry as an apostle to the early church, Peter wrote two letters to the churches under his care, confronting the evils of his time and encouraging all believers to persevere.  Come and study with us the Epistles of Peter as we learn about the need for spiritual growth, our exile in a fallen world, warnings against false teachers, and the joy and hope Christ brings in the midst of unjust suffering.
